This site is at the entrance to the Village, it will increase the population of Thornton Hough by at least 12%, and could well be the start of a wider development (as the original application).
There are many issues from drains to traffic, but the fundamental issue is this site sits in the conservation area, is a site of special landscape value and is adjacent to the school where the service road sits.

It was amazing to see so many front gardens twinkling, and lit certainly lifted the Christmas spirits.
The appeal to raise funds for the lights on the Green and the end of Eton/Radley Drive was a great success many thanks to everyone who donated, we are waiting for the final count but should be in the region of £2500. We spend just over £3500. We will be launching the 2019 appeal earlier and look to replace more of the lights on the Green as well as adding more.
A number of years ago the Trust secured the banning of articulated vehicles from using Thornton Common/Neston Road through the village. The main reason for this is the damage these vehicles cause to the many listed buildings in the village, especially St Georges and All Saints Churches. St Georges being grade 2* listed, the highest possible satus. These very heavy trucks cause vibrations which damage the very fabric of the buildings.
Articulated lorries needing to make deliveries within the village are permitted to use the route.
Over the last few months more and more articulated lorries are regularly using the village as a cut through from the M53 to Aldi or other distribution hubs or to make deliveries to Tesco and other stores. The Trust has been in regular communication with Aldi to stop this happening.
We need your help though to keep on top of this issue. If you see an articulated vehicle using the village please note the company name and time, also reg number if possible, email this information to Karen our secretary who is logging and contacting offending companies. Karen@thctrust.co.uk.
